Viridian’s Grape Seed (Vitis vinifera L.) Extract is a source of natural polyphenols and oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). These OPCs are plant-based flavanoid compounds that are found in the seeds of red grapes. Standardised to 95% OPCs, grape seed extract is an ideal source of beneficial bioflavonoids. Grape seed extract is derived from the seeds of high-quality French grapes. Whilst the grape juice is used in wine production, the unfermented seeds are ground and concentrated into grape seed extract. With grapes accounting for one of the world’s largest fruit crops, the utilisation of the beneficial seeds provides a unique source of bioflavonoids, whilst simultaneously reducing waste from the food industry.
