Hippocrates, the father of medicine, used oregano as a cleansing agent as well as for digestive and respiratory support. When used aromatically, Oregano essential oil can help decrease airborne pathogens, boost immunity, and can give a feeling of security. Oregano blends well with Basil, Geranium, Fennel, Lemongrass, Rosemary, and Thyme essential oils. Use caution when applying Oregano topically. Oregano is very caustic and can cause skin irritation if not diluted.
Diffusion: Use one to two drops in the diffuser of your choice.
Topical use: Dilute 1 drop essential oil to 10 drops carrier oil. See additional precautions below.
