7 Chakra White Sage Smudge Stick

A smudge stick is a bundle of dried herbs, most commonly white sage. Often other herbs or plants are added, and the leaves are usually bound with string in a small bundle and dried. All have a strong, pleasant aroma when burnt. Using scent and scented smoke in rites of purification, whether through smudging (the process of using a smudge stick) or burning incense, is common in many traditional cultures around the world. Traditionally used for cleansing spaces, clearing negative energy and purification of Auras, especially before meditation.

Light the tip of your smudge stick, then gently wave the smudge stick in the air until the tip begins to smoulder. Hold the smudge stick over a fireproof container at all times to prevent burning or glowing herbs from falling onto the floor as you smudge. Wave your hand through the air to gently waft smoke where you want it. Move in a clockwise direction around your house (usually starting at the front door), and gently wave the smoke into the air as you move. Spend a bit more time smudging the room corners, as they tend to accumulate stagnant energy.
