Clearspring Organic Japanese Hatcho Miso Paste is a traditional unpasteurised miso crafted in Japan using time-honoured fermentation methods. Made primarily from whole soya beans and aged over an extended period, Hatcho miso develops a deep, robust flavour with rich savoury notes and exceptional complexity.

Unpasteurised to preserve its traditional character, this organic miso is perfect for soups, broths, marinades, sauces and plant-based cooking.

Miso is a live product and ongoing fermentation may cause the lid to bulge. It will still be safe to consume. Harmless white yeasts may develop from exposure to air. Simply skim off.
Directions

Use instead of salt to enrich the flavour of soups, stews, beans, sauces and spreads. One teaspoon of Hatcho Miso will season about one cup of liquid. Dilute in a little cooking liquid then add towards the end of cooking. Avoid lengthy boiling to preserve the enzymatic properties of this unpasteurised miso.
