• Wear gloves: The strong alkalinity stripping natural oils will cause skin irritation, dryness, and cracking within minutes of bare-handed contact.
• Protect your eyes: Soda crystals cause serious eye irritation and potential corneal damage. If splashed, rinse continuously with clean water for 15 minutes.
• Avoid inhaling dust: The fine powder can heavily irritate your respiratory system and cause coughing. Pour carefully to avoid creating a dust cloud.
• Keep away from children and pets: The white powder easily mimics sugar or flour. Label containers clearly and store them completely out of reach.
• Never ingest: Soda crystals are absolutely not for consumption or drinking water. Ingestion causes corrosion to the gastrointestinal tract.

• Aluminium: Never let soda crystals touch aluminium surfaces or pans. The alkaline reaction will permanently corrode, pit, and discolour the metal.
• Varnished, lacquered, or waxed wood: The high pH acts as a stripper, easily dissolving and damaging these delicate surface finishes.
• Wool and silk: Avoid using soda crystals when washing delicate fabrics. The alkaline solution breaks down the natural keratin proteins, causing fibres to become brittle and felt.

• Store in an airtight container: When exposed to air, the crystals naturally lose their water content (efflorescence) and turn into a hardened, white powdery crust.
• Keep cool and dry: Always store the bag below 25°C.
• Keep away from acids: Never store them right next to acids (like hydrochloric acid or strong descalers), as a sudden chemical reaction can cause violent fizzing and splashes.
