Sodium percarbonate, also known as solid hydrogen peroxide, combines natural sodium carbonate (soda crystals) with hydrogen peroxide. Derived from simple ingredients like salt, water, and chalk, it breaks down in water into a powerful oxygen-based whitener and a surface-active agent. Free from chlorine and phosphates, it’s eco-friendly and gentle on rivers. Widely used in laundry detergents, it effectively removes tough stains like tea, coffee, and wine while preserving fabric whiteness and preventing greying caused by limescale. Choose this natural solution for bright, fresh clothes after every wash.

Always use hot water (40°C/104°F or higher) to fully activate sodium percarbonate. For colder washes, pre-dissolve it in hot water before use. Store the powder in a cool, dry place inside an airtight container to avoid moisture and clumping. Before applying to fabrics or delicate surfaces, test on a small, hidden area to ensure safety.

Put 1 or 2 tablespoons of percarbonate in your washing machine drum to restore whiteness and/or remove coloured stains. Turn the machine on and select a program (at least 40°C but preferably 60°C). In case of severely stained textiles, soak the item in a bowl full of hot water with 2 tablespoons of percarbonate. Put it in the machine afterwards.

To clean cutting boards and utensils, soak them in a mixture of 1 tablespoon of sodium percarbonate per 2 liters of hot water for 15–30 minutes, then rinse well. For removing tea and coffee stains, add 1 teaspoon of sodium percarbonate to the stained mugs, teapots, or coffee carafes, fill with hot water, let it fizz for 30 minutes, and rinse thoroughly.

To clean grout and tiles, create a paste using sodium percarbonate and hot water. Apply it to grout lines or tiles, allow it to fizz for 20 minutes, scrub with a brush, then rinse. For shower curtains, soak them in a solution of 1 tablespoon sodium percarbonate per 4 liters of hot water for 30 minutes before rinsing or machine washing.
