TRAD Y SEL Fleur De Sel (flower of salt) has a melt-in-the-mouth texture and delicate flavour. It should be used as a garnish to let its crystals melt on your tongue. It can accompany festive dishes, shellfish, fresh or saltwater fish, meat, as well as even the simplest starters (raw vegetables, sauces) and homemade French fries.
Whereas coarse salt is mainly used for cooking, flower of salt is the final touch which will enhance meat, noble fish or cooked vegetables.
The Guérande basin in France where Trad y Sel's Guérande salt is produced extends over 1,620 hectares. The solar technique used has a two-thousand-year history. Some salt works from Carolingian times are still in their original state; the most recent date from the 18th century. They are the northernmost salt works in Europe.
