The Moso Bamboo we use for VirtueBrush has many material and environmental virtues. It grows quickly and re-grows quickly after harvesting, up to three feet in a day. It’s actually a type of grass that has natural antibacterial qualities dries out quickly and has a tensile strength that rivals steel.

The VirtueBrush Bamboo Toothbrush is a Sustainable Alternative to plastic toothbrushes that are hard to recycle and often end up in landfill, our waterways and oceans where they break down into smaller and smaller pieces of plastic causing harm to the environment.

We work with Trees for the Future (Trees.org) to plant three trees per brush sold. We feel this is a positive visual representation of the good that people do when they refuse plastic and go with biodegradable and sustainable options.

To dispose of your toothbrush please place in your brown bin for commercial composting. Alternatively, pull out the bristles with a pair of pliersfor commercial composting and re-use the handle in any creative way you can think of or simply compost the handle at home.
